Can I connect BigPurplePhone to a Bluetooth device?

Yes, all BigPurplePhones are now able to connect to specific Bluetooth devices which is especially handy if the user has a hearing aid with Bluetooth.

For a BigPurplePhone Talk&Text Edition you will need to locate and tap on the Bluetooth button then search for and connect to your device.

If you have a BigPurplePhone SilverFox Edition, Bluetooth can be enabled or disabled using the 'Manage' feature; please refer to the Related Article below.

Hearing aids and hard of hearing

The BigPurplePhone can be used on speaker (like a regular phone) and it also comes with headphones.

Hearing Aids

If the hearing aid does not need an App in order to work then you may be able to connect it over Bluetooth.

If the hearing aid requires an App then they most likely won’t be able to connect to the BigPurplePhone.

For a BigPurplePhone Talk&Text Edition, you will need to locate and tap on the Bluetooth button then search for and connect to your device.

If you have a BigPurplePhone SilverFox Edition, you can use the 'Manage' feature to enable or disable the Bluetooth connection - please refer to the following instructions.

Instructions

Connect to Bluetooth (advanced user)

To connect to Bluetooth the BigPurplePhone needs to be at the location of the Bluetooth device and follow these steps:

1. Scroll down and toggle the “Bluetooth” button on. This will enable the Bluetooth button on the BigPurplePhone

2. Go to the BigPurplePhone home screen and scroll to the bottom

3. Tap on light blue Bluetooth button (if it is not there, tap on any icon and return to Home to refresh the screen)

    This will unlock the standard Bluetooth system settings

4. Under Connected Devices tap the following setting:

     “+ Pair new device”

5. Under ‘Available Devices’, select the device you wish to pair to (be careful you are connecting to the right device)

6. Every device is different but you may need to enter a Pairing Code and select "Allow Access to your Contacts". Refer to the instructions for the device to which you are pairing

7. Use the back arrow on the top left of the page to go back to the BigPurplePhone
8. Once you are connected, you can then remove the Bluetooth button to disable the Bluetooth button on the BigPurplePhone. The Bluetooth connection will remain connected.
