Can a silent number call a BigPurplePhone when Safe Callers List is enabled?

Yes, you can receive calls from silent numbers even when you have the Safe Callers List enabled. It is important the person calling you from a silent number reveals their number to the BigPurplePhone when they call by entering a code before they dial.


Silent number reveal code from mobiles: *31#
For example if your mobile is 0412 345 678 and their number is silent, the Silent Caller would need to enter *31#0412345678 if calling from a mobile for your call to succeed to your Loved Ones BigPurplePhone.
Silent number reveal code from landline: 1832
For example if your landline is 02 9188 6998  and their number is silent, the Silent Caller would need to enter 18320291886998 if calling from a landline for your call to succeed to your Loved Ones BigPurplePhone.

If you have a silent phone number, it will not show up on the phone you call (except for the emergency call service). If you make a call to the Triple Zero (000) emergency call service, your number will always show, even if it is silent. This helps the operator:

How to call a BigPurplePhone from a silent number

  1. Ensure your Silent Caller is saved as a contact on the BigPurplePhone 
  2. When the Silent Caller calls the BigPurplePhone enter *31#(mobile)/ 1832(landline) first
  3. Then dial the BigPurplePhone mobile number
  4. The call will be received.
